ABOUT THE SHOW
I look for personalities, faces that fascinate me, women of different origin and age...when depicting women I am primarily interested in abstracting their unique emotional states, comments Jitka Hanzlova.
The Female series is a kaleidoscope, an individual encyclopedia of female types, a meditation on the different stages of life. Primarily, Hanzlova is interested in portraying the immediate emotional intensity of her subject. In each case this is concentrated in the individual portraits, but gains a deeper meaning as part of the series as a whole.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Jitka Hanzlova focuses on communication and emotionality in her photographic cycles. Despite objectivity and standard script, her photos look like pictures of nature and the countryside as well as like portraits and images of the very familiar.
